Oh boy, was I nervous this morning when I had to try on this dress or what?!
As soon as I came across this pattern two weeks ago, I knew I just had to make it. My favorite feature was the trimmed split in the front. I added a contrasting fabric for the split and another contrasting fabric for the trim, the fancy pockets that I like so much, et voila! The dress calls for very small sleeves but I quite like it the way it is right now. I'll have to ponder over that one...
The only problem was that I had some problems with the zipper (as always) and then, when I tried to close the zipper on the mannequin, it didn't close!!!
I was so happy with the results and was terrified that it wouldn't fit. I waited until this morning to try it out (and to gain some courage in case it really wouldn't fit), but no worries, it fit like a charm. I actually made a couple of pictures of me wearing it but now I can not find the right cable for that little camera so you'll have to take my word for it.

I'm happy, happy, happy! (now all we need is some sunshine!)
Oh it is gorgeous! I love the details and the split in the middle. The fabric is so cute. Well done, as always!
ReplyDeleteDank Margje! :-) Ik ben er zelf ook zeer blij mee...
DeleteCongratulations! You are so clever! What a dress!
ReplyDeleteKram, Monica
And you're back again from your big travels. Great to hear from you again Monica! :-)
DeleteSuper jurkje zeg, mooie stofjes! (ook al heb je een laken gebruikt...)
ReplyDeleteEn dat laken kostte slechts iets van $2, nog beter! ;-)
DeleteWow!!! The details on this dress are gorgeous! I hope we get to see pictures of you wearing it!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely great, the cutest and most elegant dress I ever saw you make! No sleeves, no, no, no......or maybe! I live the fabrics and the model, I love everything about it!
ReplyDeleteAgneta
What praise Aggie, thank you!!! :-)
DeleteHee, hij is gelukt!! Gaaf Marjan, echt super!! En dat van een oud laken, ik moest zo lachen toen ik het las... ik zag dus een oud wit laken voor me, maar... dit is veel mooier :))!! Complimenten hoor!!
ReplyDeleteIk moet er ook om lachen Stefanie, but why the heck not? ;-) De stof is helaas niet al te sterk, maar voelt wel heerlijk aan voor de zomer. Vandaag ook hier echter geen zomer te bekennen: het giet!!!
DeleteOh my gossh! It´s beautiful! I love that desing, you are really awesome! I´m happy to come everytime here, your blog is so full of sweet surprises. Congrats! ^_^
ReplyDeleteHello there Varla, you are too kind! :)
DeleteBy the way, I tried to reply to your comment from last week via your gmail, but that didn't work...
That dress is absolutly gorgeous. Made from a sheet too, it couldn't be more perfect. Very well done! I pray for some sunshine for you.

What a very pretty dress and all from a vintage sheet? Marvellous. If you buy a memory card reader, you will never need to hunt for your usb cable ever again!
ReplyDeleteYour dress is so charming, I love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou must make more!!
Hugs,
Chris :o)
