Our last hike...

Snow!

Railroad relics...

I-90 toward the Cascades...

Taken from the car...

Saturday was Miss M.'s last day at home before she would return to college. Therefore we had to take one last hike with her. Her wish was to experience snow one more time... (my wish was to walk on a fairly level trail)

We drove to the Homestead Valley Trail Head just off of I-90 and explored parts of the Iron Horse Trail. Such cool (and very high!) trestle bridges  from the old railroad that used to run there.

After a 4-mile walk it was getting very foggy and couldn't see much anymore. We drove up to Snoqualmie Pass for some lunch (and a beer at Dru Bru brewery). It was snowing and it was just beautiful.  After all that we drove back home and Miss M. started packing. She left very early Sunday morning (we had to leave the house for the airport at 5:45am...) and today was my first day back to being home alone. It was a looooong day....

At the Lake...

To celebrate our last days together, Miss M. and I decided to go on a walk to Rattlesnake Lake, just past North Bend, WA. It was very cloudy, wet and moody: so Pacific Northwest-like. Beautiful!

Two more sleeps and our house will be so quiet again...
