"Ik geef je een roos elke dag..."
(= a Dutch folk song: I give you a rose every day)
Yesterday I received these lovely orange roses from my husband, in honor of our new King. I also feel they are in honor of my now late step-grootmoeder (step-grandmother) who passed away yesterday at the most honorable age of 96....
I've only met her a few times, but she was always so lovely and so warm towards my children, who after all weren't even her biological great-grandchildren. Fais de beaux rêves, Grandmere!

Beautiful flowers, what a sweet thoughtful man you have and I'm so sorry to hear about your loss....96 what a wonderful life!

That was a very nice gesture of your husband, I will tell my husband about the roses and hope he will give me some when our present King abdicates.....which won't happen and I won't get any roses....
ReplyDeleteIt was a very beautiful change of Queen/King&newQueen. What dresses they had and what fantastic jewellry they wore.
96 years, that's a really good age and I hope she had a good life, too.

Groetjes!!
Dat was heel mooi gezegd Stefanie! Dank je wel...
DeleteSo sorry to hear about your step-grandmother passing.
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on your new king...and your daughter turning 16 (obviously I'm a bit behind in reading blogs :)
