Take Me Out To The Ball Game...

After some amazing downpours yesterday afternoon, around 5pm the skies brightened and blue appeared: a great night for a ball game with the roof open!

Our seats were way up high along the third base line and just perfect for me. (no chance of getting hit by the ball!  ~wink~) The game was a bit slow and we didn't score until the seventh inning but those last two innings were very exciting and The Mariners ended up winning 3-1: Yay!

And this is what we saw on our way home...

Someone behind me complained to hurry up as he had to go to work tomorrow...

I also tried to take pictures of the most awesome moon ever but that didn't work out as planned. It was pretty though!  {smile}

All in all I took almost 100 hundred pictures last night, just having fun trying out things. I did not manipulate these pics in any way, besides maybe cropping them a little bit. Great quality right?

Food & More Photos...

"OMG!" is what I said when Miss M. gave me a small teaspoon full of the sauce she had just made. This is what she was cooking (recipe from 'The New Basics' cook book):

It was Amazing! But oh boy you guys, soooooo many calories..... (cream and chevre!)

Miss M. made everything herself, from cooking the pasta, to slicing the chicken and of course to making the delicious sauce. She even made the pictures: Yay for Miss M.!  {smile}

Otherwise we don't have that many exciting things going on at the moment so I will leave you with yet another collage (gotta love that Picasa3 program) of the pretty Peonies that are finally blooming right now....

OK, that lightblue one is not a Peony of course but pretty nevertheless...

Just Can't Get Enough...

Wow, we just can't get enough of this new camera! I think my daugther likes Rebel Yell as much as I do! Look, here are some of her pics...

I will be taking a 3 hour class next week so then hopefully I will be able to do some manual manipulation as well. Great fun to try something new!

So today is our first real vacation day and it is sooo blah outside: rain and clouds and more blah. Sir C. is running in a Cross Country Camp at school this week and Miss M. is hanging out at home with me. We have already been 'fighting' about whose turn it is to sit behind the computer this morning (yes, I am completely addicted to the thing) but now she is in the kitchen baking cookies.

At least we have tickets to see the Mariners (baseball) for the four of us this Wednesday and on Friday G. and I will go and see Mark Lanegan (lead singer of The Screaming Trees) in action. We saw The Screaming Trees live in Berlin sometime during the early 90's and have followed them, and him later when he went solo, since. They are actually from around here!

High School Graduation...

Today was our High School's Commencement Ceremony, or the Graduation in other words. Since my husband is the head of High School he had to attend and I usually come along as well. Here is the class of 2011:

 He is getting ready to give out the awards (diploma's) and pronounce all the difficult names...

It is always a fun event, (with some tears here and there) especially now that we've been there for four years and I actually know quite a few students and parents at the school. Only two more years and then it will be our turn...
The sun came out quite a bit and just as we arrived back home again the rain hit so that was good timing.

And this is what I wore today, my home-made dress and bright orange clogs! Now the school year is truly over...

Graduation...

Our lovely daughter M. graduated from Middle School last night. It was a lovely event where every Homeroom had two speakers who said nice things about the others. Awards were received and we first had a pleasant get together at the campus center and after that we had another little party at one of M's friends' house. (the boy with the dark hair standing next to her in the pictures)

The pictures were of very poor quality since a) I used my 'old' powershot camera, b) didn't want to use my flash in order not to offend anyone and c) it was very dark and we sat all the way in the back.

I was thinking of taking Rebel Yell with me but I had been playing around with it that afternoon (quite unsuccesfully I might add) and couldn't figure how to get back to the original settings!

Of course this morning I realised I only had to push one single button (from Manual Focus back to Automatic Focus) et voila, all is well again with RY. (= Rebel Yell)

Anyway, it was a nice event last night and we came home quite late (around 11) and of course this morning they all had to be up nice and early (5:45) for their last day of school. That was rather rough and even I am feeling a bit blaaaah. It always takes a few days after the end of school to start relaxing etc. and I'm definitely not there yet.

It has been incredibly overcast since Monday so that is not helping us to get into the summer mood either.

PS Today 22 years ago my hubbie and I met for the very first time!!!  {smile}

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom...

Here some of the results of zooming with my new Rebel Yell:

The photo above was downloaded in its original (huge) size. The photo below I first resized to a small and then made it larger again on this page. I just wanted to see if there was any difference and yes, I do see some. The colors seem more intense in the above one and I also see more detail...

And a fun last one of my 'boys'...You can't really see it here but Mister C. is actually about 2 cm taller than my husband!  (which pleases C. to no end...)   ~wink~

Messenger Bag and Another Present...

I can't believe it myself but I've already finished the Messenger Bag! And I agree with Monica from Tjernhus, it is my best bag yet!  (Thanks Monica!)

I found the pattern at the 'Obsessive Crafting Disorder' blog. (credit where credit is due...)

Now with my new Rebel Yell I want to make pictures of everything so get ready....

I finished the bag at 2:45pm and used it already at 3pm!  {smile}

While I was finishing off the bag, one of my lovely neighbors came by (the Scottish one!) and out of the blue gave me these two absolutely wonderful mugs from Paperchase!

She had seen them at Border's and immediately thought of me, how wonderful is that? Thanks Eilidh!
